PostSubject: Parent/Teacher Conference    Wed Sep 12, 2012 2:06 am

Robin Leroy was the English teacher at the Seattle Franklin highschool. Robin was one of the last teachers were talking to tonight and her last couple was the Shepherds. Cameron had only been in school for two weeks and there were a few things Robin wanted to talk to the Shepherds about, but all the things were not bad. Robin got up from her chair and said good bye to her couple that was with her now and she went to cheek the coffee to make sure she still had some and that it was hot. She set out some more cookies, just in case they would want some. She when went to the desk and pulled out some of her papers of Cameron, looking at them.

Derek and Meredith were at school, waiting for Mrs.Leroy to finish with the last couple, so they could come in and hear about Cameron. She had been at school only for two weeks, so they assumed that there was not much to tell, but they were still there. Derek was happy that his wife had become so implied in raising his daughter, not just give her a place to stay.
He opened the door for her, then got inside as well. He smiled at the teacher, while Mer gave a slight wave. "Hello, Mrs.Leroy," he greeted.

Mrs. Leroy stood up from her chair and walked over to them. "Mr. and Mrs Shepherd. Its so great to see you." She said shaking each of their hands and offered them a chair. "I'm so glad you both came." She said and waited for them to sit. She wanted to get this started so she was not keeping them for nothing.

Derek and Meredith both smiled and shook the teacher's hand, then sat down. "Sure, it's good to see you too," Derek said with a nod. Once again, he was sure that there was nothing wrong, because it had always been two weeks.

Mrs.Leroy sat down in front of them and smiled. "Let me start off with how amazing Cameron is in my class. She has a great imagination and a gift for writing." She said pulling out some of the poems and some of the stories Cameron had wrote for the class. They were truthfully A + papers.

A smile pulled on Derek's lips when the teacher said that. This was great, he didn't know about it, but he was very proud. Meredith, with the same smile on her face, gently caught his hand and looked over the papers as well.
"This is good to hear," Derek nodded towards Mrs.Leroy.

Mrs. Leroy nodded and smiled. "She seems to have made a lot of friends as well in these two weeks, but also some enemies. " She said looking at the couple. She did not want to cause problems, but she had to bring this up.

Derek nodded a bit, though he raised his eyebrows when the teacher mentioned some enemies. Of course, no one was liked by everyone, but saying that they were enemies, that was a lot. "Really?" he asked. "Has something happened?"

Mrs. Leroy looked at Derek and smiled softly. "Well your daughter has had a hard past and I think we all know that, but teenagers don't get that and some girls have said stuff that upsets Cameron and she is quick to throw a punch. She had been in three fights so far." She said looking at them. "You got the notes right? She brought them back with your name on them."

Derek's smile faded away completely when the teacher started saying that. Of course, he would have punched those girls as well if he heard them telling something wrong about her, but Cameron was in school, this was something she was not allowed to do. His eyebrow shot up when Mrs.Leroy mentioned the notes. He glanced at Meredith, who was just as confused, then back at the teacher.
"No, we didn't," he replied, shaking his head.
She had also lied to him. And this was something he didn't like.

Mrs. Leroy let out a sigh and looked at Derek. "Well she is new with you right?" She asked. That is how she understood all this, but it was still not ok to fight or lie. It was not an ok thing to do.

Derek nodded slightly, while Meredith gently stroked his hand with her thumb. "Yes, she is," he said. He was a bit upset, not necessarily for picking fights, but mostly for lying to him. This meant that she didn't trust him enough to tell him, and that was not good to hear.

"She might be scared o tell you about the fights. I know she respects you both so much. She always talks about what great surgeons you are. She is a proud daughter, but I do understand that you are upset that she did not tell you about the fights." She said softly.

Derek nodded and smiled ever-so-slightly when he heard that she did talk not only about him, but also Meredith. He swallowed a bit then looked back at Mrs.Leroy. "Yes, of course, I understand. She hasn't lived with us for long, so I guess it's normal. I will have a discussion with her about this and I will make sure it won't happen again," he assured her.

She nodded slightly and took a breath. "She is a good girl, for what she has been through. I've seen some girls that has been through half what she has and they are nothing like Cameron. They are full of hurt and fear. Cameron is sweet, caring and hopeful." She said talking Cameron up.

Derek nodded, before glancing at Meredith, then back at the teacher. He gave a small smile. "It's good to know that, Mrs.Leroy," he told her sincerely. He knew that Cameron was a great girl, but there were still a few things he needed to fix.

She nodded and began to finish the meeting. It had been a long day and she was wanting it to come to a end.

Soon enough, the meeting was over and Derek and Meredith walked out. Derek sighed and passed a hand through his hair, then shook his head a bit. He was happy that Cameron was a smart girl, but picking fights was not right, it was not okay.

Mer rubbed his arm. "Derek try to stay calm with her honey. I am sure she was not meaning to lie to you." She said walking to the care with him. She knew Derek's temper and that would scare Cameron.

Derek nodded a bit, but didn't look at Meredith again. "I'll try to," he replied. He didn't like this situation and he didn't want to scare her off, but she also had to learn how to behave and how to act towards him. Because lying was something he completely disagreed with.

Mer nodded and got into the car and sighed a little. She really hoped Cameron was in bed when they got home, so Derek would not talk to her tonight.

Derek drove off home. He glanced at his watch; he hoped Cameron wouldn't sleep yet, because he wanted to have this discussion as soon as possible. Once home, he opened the door for Meredith, then locked the car and got inside. "Cameron?" he called out, looking around.

Mer followed and looked over on the couch that Cameron was on finishing homework. She gave her a small smiled and went up to her and Derek's bedroom.

Cameron looked at him and smiled. "One second dad. Almost done." She said and looked back down at her homework finishing her math problem.

Derek gave Meredith a nod when she started upstairs. It was better if he talked to Cameron by himself. He went and sat down on the armchair across from the couch. He didn't look at her, but passed a hand through his hair. He was not happy at all after meeting the teacher.

She finished and smiled up at him. "What's up dad? How was the parents/teacher thingy?" She asked closing her book and placed it into her book bag.
